IWSG, Cover Reveal, and Being Thankful

Posting the first Wednesday of every month, The Insecure Writer's Support Group, is  the brainchild of Alex Cavanaugh. YOU can sign up HERE to participate.

Let's give our co-hosts  a warm welcome! Stephen Tremp,
Fundy Blue, Viola Fury, MJ Fifield,Loni Townsend,
Susan Gourley, Stephanie Faris and
Bish Denham (Yes, that's me co-hosting. If I lose my mind I'll blame on the A to Z Challenge!)

In an effort to keep these posts short I will be sharing a quote.

Albert Einstein at the age of three (1882)
Isn't this the cutest picture?

Today's quote is from:

Albert Einstein, no introduction needed.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Today I'm thrilled to help C. Lee McKenzie show off the cover of her latest book,
THE SIGN OF THE GREEN DRAGON.
You can read my review HERE.

Summary: When a wall of their cave hideout crumbles, three boys discover a skeleton, clutching a treasure map. They set off to trace the story of an old murder, but stumble into a modern crime, and confront ancient Chinese dragons.

Bio: C. Lee McKenzie is a 4 & 5 star reviewed author. Her greatest passion is writing for young readers. Sign of the Green Dragon is her third Middle Grade novel. Alligators Overhead and the sequel, The Great Time Lock Disaster were her first two. She has traditionally published four young adult novels: Sliding on the Edge, The Princess of Las Pulgas, Double Negative and Sudden Secrets

Being Thankful
Today I'm thankful for COMPASSION

Kids compassion
I particularly like the last line.

What are you thankful for? Any thoughts on the quote from Einstein? Does it ring true for you like it does for me? Have you read Lee's latest or have it on you TBR list?

  1. I love your quote by Albert Einstein. It rings thousands upon thousands of bells within me and that picture of him is absolutely adorable. I am also looking forward to reading The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee McKenzie.
Your quote on compassion touched me because it is really so. Compassion opens doors that you never thought possible.
Thanks too for co-hosting this month.

  3. I'm stoked for Lee! I read a quote the other day about how something was the killer of imagination...but I can't remember it. It was inspiring though. Today I'm thankful for good sleep, and cheese! And my bloggies. DO you have any idea how much I've missed hanging with everyone?

  4. Since that quote comes from someone with a lot of knowledge, it carries even more weight.

  5. I love the Einstein quote because imagination definitely sets a lot of us free. And I'm totally thankful for my mom (she's my hero) and nice, warm weather.

  7. Great quote, and yes imagination is key to unlocking even more knowledge! Lee's book is the first book on my list during my break. Love her cover, even if it isn't showing up on here, may just be my computer. Have fun co-hosting, I applaud you especially coming off the A to Z - me, I'm on a break, tomorrow and all the rest of May. (huge sigh of relief) :)

  10. Ha. I've never seen a childhood picture of Einstein. Doesn't look the same without the mustache, does he?

  11. C.Lee's book sounds fantastic so yeah--TBR. I find it curious that this is the second blog I've visited where the image of her cover is not coming through. Curious.

  12. Nothing true is ever found without imagining it first . . . (I said that.) Where would we be without imagination? Probably somewhere miserable and imagining something better! Thanks for co-hosting IWSG this month.

  13. Einstein was a genius!
    Lee's cover is great.

  14. I really like that quote. I don't think we'd ever make advancements if it wasn't for imagination. That's where we make the impossible possible!

  15. I wasn't doing A-Z so that was why I offered to co-host IWSG in April. I don't know how some of you manage it all! :)

  18. I love the quote. It makes my day, my month, my year. Mostly because I'm no genius, but I have tons of imagination, which means there's hope for me, eh? Thanks for co-hosting, Bish. Thanks for reminding me to be thankful. Thanks for showcasing Lee. Yay--Lee!

  19. Einstein was a big believer in imagination. It often got him into trouble with peers, but ultimately worked. I wonder if I have that sort of perseverance.

  20. I can see the old Einstein in that darling face. Thanks Bish. And I haven't a clue why my image doesn't show. This is the second blog with that issue. I'll check the file, but it came from the designer.

  25. I hope this doesn't sound trite, but today I'm thankful for the IWSG. I'm trying so hard to get my life in order (on several levels) and get myself back into a 'writing' frame of mind, and the posts I've read so far today are really encouraging.

Another encouraging factor is working my way through your story. Now, that I'm more settled I plan to finish it up shortly. sorry I lost almost the entire month of April due to my move.

Oh my, it does get better. A mention of the IWSG aka "I Was Seeking Gary."
    Thank you for that.

The superstar author, Lee's cover is not showing up. Oh well, I'm sure it's terrific. Congrats on her cover. Congrats on everything.

  44. This is one of my favorite quotes by Einstein and YES I do believe it's true. If we lack imagination, we can never see beyond what's in front of us, already fleshed out. How on earth can we hope to create stories without imagination? Congratulations to Lee! The story sounds WONDERFUL! Right now I'm thankful for slow enlightenment and caffeine free coffee substitutes :)
