Alternatives for Change

Alternatives is a recurring post in which I give synonyms for an over used word. Click on the tab above for a "complete" list of over used words.

Today's word is:
ImageChef.com
The only thing constant, is change. And on this, the second day of the New Year, it seems more than coincidental that the next word on my list of over used words just happens to be, CHANGE.
Change is the one thing we can be sure of. It applies to all aspects of our lives. Embrace change, it is your brother/sister. It is at the heart of all we do.

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do." Gandhi.

These words have been simplified, rewritten, changed into something with which we are all more familiar: Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Depending on how you use it, this list may come in handy for finding another way to say the same thing.

WHAT CHANGES ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2014?

This song by the Scorpions is truly beautiful with a profound and simple message that is as relevant today as when it was first released. Happy New Year.

Of Sand Castles, Fractals and Kaleidoscopes

What do these three things have in common?
Ultimate Sand Castle
They are all beautiful examples of the ephemeral, reminders that nothing lasts forever, that things change constantly.

I sometimes get grumpy about change just like anyone else, but I do make an effort to breathe through it because ultimately there's not a thing I can do about change except to accept it.

I have held off, until nearly the last possible minute, changing over to the *new* (not so new anymore) blogger program. I am being forced to use it and spent a good portion of yesterday trying to figure it out which is not exactly my idea of a good time.

Which means, this is my first post under the new system. I suspect (as with so many other computer programs and systems) that about the time I'm really comfortable and happy with it they'll come along with a new and improved version.

Sigh.

The only thing permanent is change. We all best get used to the idea and enjoy the scenery and each other while we can for it can change in an instant.

Do you handle change well, breathe through it and go on? Or do you fight change, worry about it and try to control it?
