This year it's all about the
The A to Z of
A LIZARD'S TAIL
A LIZARD'S TAIL
In which I will describe, show pictures of, and otherwise expound on plants and animals mentioned in the novel.
S is for Stone Wall
in the Garden by the Sea
This is Marvin's home, a long abandoned human garden, surrounded by a hand stacked stone wall. It is a safe and Edenic-like place. That is, until a feral cat threatens destruction.
S is also for Scorpions
Marvin has to always be on the lookout for she-beasts and he-beasts. They are dangerous enemies.
That's just how I pictured Stone Wall.
ReplyDeleteDon't like scorpions. We had to deal with those in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the cat moves on to greener pastures and leaves the idyllic stone wall alone.
ReplyDeleteThat scorpion looks somewhat flattened... I don't think he has to worry about that one!
ReplyDeleteGreat stone wall, Bish. Perfect for the story.
ReplyDeleteScorpions! Yikes! Nasty, nasty creatures. But kind of cool in their own way.
ReplyDeleteYou know I never saw a scorpion on STX. Ceptepeides a plenty, but never a scorpion, was told they exist there, but fortunately they never came around to bother me.
ReplyDeleteScorpions scare the living creepy crap out of me. I think I would rather run into a snake than a scorpion. Cool theme and interesting post. I just dropped by from the challenge to say hello.
ReplyDeleteSomething about a stonewall, clearly stacked and maintained over the years, makes me happy. Don't know why.
ReplyDeleteHi Bish - so Marvin can't stretch out and enjoy the warm stones and sea breeze .. he's got to keep a wary out for the She and He biters .. not nice - cheers Hilary
