Blog Schedule

I post on Monday with an occasional random blog thrown in for good measure. I do my best to answer all comments via email and visit around on the days I post.

Sinfully Tagged!

Rena has tagged me with a fun one.

Sometimes you can learn more about a person by what they don’t tell you. Sometimes you can learn a lot from the things they just make up. If you are tagged with this Meme, lie to me. Then tag 7 other folks (one for each deadly sin) and hope they can lie.

Pride -- What is your biggest contribution to the world?
The invention of plastic!

Envy -- What do your coworkers have that you wish was yours?
When I had coworkers I wanted ALL their plastic.

Gluttony -- What did you eat last night?
Fresh caught lobster served on a plastic plate and eaten with plastic utensiles.

Lust -- What really lights your fire?
I loved being rubbed all over in plastic. I like how it makes me sweat.

Anger -- What is the last thing that really pissed you off?
When my family had an intervention and tried to convince me I was addicted to plastic and needed to go to a plastic re-hab. They even had me on Dr. Phil!

Greed -- Name something you hoard and keep from others.
My collection of plastic. It is so wonderfully huge it's starting to spill over into the oceans.

Sloth -- What’s the laziest thing you ever did?
That would the time I made hubby dust my plastic collection.

That was fun.

I now pass this on, in no particular order:
1. Angela Cerrito

2. MG Higgins

3. Vijaya

4. CJ Raymer

5. Mary

6. Tricia

7. Anne

Have fun.

  1. Okay, Bish, I'll bite!

    Pride: (Major accomplishment)Unplanned over development.

Envy: My coworkers's sprawling homes with their leaky septic tanks.

Gluttony: Lobster at the Ritz followed by a chocolate mousse at the Reef and an Irish coffee served in the stretch limo as I was driven home.

Lust: A badly researched and poorly written Environmental Assessment Report (EAR) - you know - the kind that the Coastal Zone Management Commission (CZM) and the Legislature are sure to pass!

Anger: I got really pissed off when CZM failed to approve a 100 acre plus marina project at Mandal Bay. Stupid environmentalists were elated. What numbskulls!

Greed: My list of developers, contractors, poor scientists and easily bought Government officials. I might be persuaded to give up some information if "The Price Is Right."

Sloth: I let someone else speak in favor of the Mandal project at the public hearing. The press was really surprised as I'm normally so vocal at such events.

  3. Hi Bish, OMG. Thanks for including me. I will noodle on this a bit and steer clear of plastics! I have to run out on a previous commitment so I'll get back later. Cheers.

  5. Ok, let's see --

Pride -- What is your biggest contribution to the world?

That would have to be the use of pesticides on food.

Envy -- What do your coworkers have that you wish was yours?

A garden where nothing moves, nothing crawls and nothing flits. Just rows of vegetables growing up like little soldiers without any bugs.

What did you eat last night?

Salad drenched in chemicals. Ummm, you can almost taste the aphid spray. It adds a subtle tang, like lemon in blueberry muffins.

    What really lights your fire?

The idea of chemically perfect food. No blemishes. The more like wax fruit, the better.

What is the last thing that really pissed you off?

The ridiculous assertions that pesticides have been linked to cancer, MS, premature birth and starvation. Everyone knows it keeps the fruits and vegetables healthy.

Name something you hoard and keep from others.

A 1963 can of DDT. Nothing kills like old fashioned DDT. I use it sparingly, and it works like a charm every time.

What’s the laziest thing you ever did?

Hired a crop duster to spray a field of wild roses. I just couldn't stand the s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s
of all the natural growing. I mean, why wait when we have the power to enhance things?

  6. How do I really feel about plastic, why Adrienne, can't you tell I just LOVE it?

Tricia, I was hoping you'd play seeing as how we only just met and all...

Thanks Taschima! And I don't suppose anyone's ever told you you have a lovely and unusual name.

Glad you got a luagh out of it Rena.

OMG Anne! Hysterical. You and me...the plastic/pesticide twins.

  9. I'm game -- I'll play!

    Let's see:

Pride -- My MS is my greatest contribution to the world.

Envy -- My coworkers all envy my ability to stay quiet and never complain.

Gluttony -- I get SO tired of being taken out to nice restaurants all the time. Last night I had grilled scallops served on a bed of chilled endive and artichoke hearts with a sauce made from reduced pomegranate nectar. Again.

Lust -- I don't dare wear my bikini to the pool for fear of attracting too much male attention.

Anger -- When my students all insist on turning in their homework it infuriates me.

Greed -- Is it my fault that my salary is higher than everyone else's?

Sloth -- I've burn off more calories just writing this than I have all day.

Yes, that WAS fun! (That lust one is actually true, but not in the way one might assume...)

  10. Glad to meet someone else who hates plastic as much as I do. I buy glass whenever I can, even if it's more expensive. And believe me, it takes a lot to get me to do that.
