Random Thoughts Friday

Dr. Seuss. I wonder how many children have read his books? My all time favorite is THE CAT IN THE HAT. No matter how wild The Cat was, there was the moment when civility returned and he cleaned up after himself. The message is clear; we can have fun, we can go crazy, we can make a mess, but we have to be responsible.

"Then he said, 'That is that.'
And then he was gone
With a tip of his hat."

The Cat appealed to my mischievous nature. My cousin JohnJohn and I were even nick-named Thing One and Thing Two because we liked to pull pranks.

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”

“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”

“Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.”

“You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room.”

“If I were invited to a dinner party with my characters, I wouldn't show up.”

"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple."
