TIMELESS (#3 Maiden of Time) by Crystal Collier #CoverReveal

Book Title: TIMELESS (Maiden of Time #3)
Author: Crystal Collier
Genre: YA Paranormal Historical
Release Date: November 1, 2016

TIME IS THE ENEMY

In 1771, Alexia had everything: the man of her dreams, reconciliation with her father, even a child on the way. But she was never meant to stay. It broke her heart, but Alexia heeded destiny and traveled five hundred years back to stop the Soulless from becoming.

In the thirteenth century, the Holy Roman Church has ordered the Knights Templar to exterminate the Passionate, her bloodline. As Alexia fights this new threat -- along with an unfathomable evil and her own heart -- the Soulless genesis nears. But none of her hard-won battles may matter if she dies in childbirth before completing her mission.

Can Alexia escape her own clock?

Crystal Collier is an eclectic author who pens clean fantasy/sci-fi, historical, and romance stories with the occasional touch of humor, horror, or inspiration. She practices her brother-induced ninja skills while teaching children or madly typing about fantastic and impossible creatures. She has lived from coast to coast and now calls Florida home with her creative husband, four littles, and a friend (a.k.a. the zombie locked in her closet). Secretly, she dreams of world domination and a bottomless supply of cheese. You can find her on her Blog, FacebookGoodreads, or follow her on Twitter.

THE GREAT UNVEILING, Question of the Month, Being Thankful

Here it is folks! The cover for my newest book.
The Bowl and the Stone:
A Haunting Tale from the Virgin Islands.

Pirates. Explorers. And spooky ghost hunters.

It’s 1962. Sam and her best friend, Nick, have the whole island of St. John, in the U. S. Virgin Islands, as their playground. They’ve got 240 year-old sugar plantation ruins to explore, beaches to swim, and trails to hike.

But when a man disappears like a vapor right in front of them, they must confront a scary new reality. They’re being haunted. By whom? And why? He’s even creeping into Nick’s dreams.

They need help, but the one who might be able to give it is Trumps, a reclusive hunchback who doesn’t like people, especially kids. Are Sam and Nick brave enough to face him? And if they do, will he listen to them?

As carefree summer games turn into eerie hauntings, Sam and Nick learn more about themselves and life than they could ever have imagined.

Pre-order HERE today and enter the ghostly tale as soon as it releases.

This monthly bloghop, hosted by Michael D'Agostino at A Life Examined ,
asks a question. Sometimes it's one to ponder, others times entertaining.

This month's question is:
What's your favorite beach?

Having grown up in the Virgin Islands, a more applicable question might be, "What beach is your least favorite?" But I'm not going to do that. I'm going to show you some pictures of some of my favorite beaches. There are too many to list/show them all.

Hawksnest, St. John, which plays a part in my book, The Bowl and the Stone.

Lameshure, St. John (pronounce lam-a-sure) with approaching storm.

Lilli Maho, St. John, where we once had a guest house. A beach I often walked at night.

Trunk Bay, St. John is also featured in my newest book. My grandmother owned and operated a guesthouse here. It was the first place I lived when my family moved to the islands in 1955, and where I learned to swim. It is considered one of the most beautiful and most photographed beaches in the world.

Brewers Bay, St. Thomas. A large, wide beach where they hold the annual sanctioned Texas Chili Cook-off. The winner goes to Terlingua, TX.

Magens Bay, St. Thomas, a near mile long beach
where locals go in the early morning to walk, jog, and swim.

Linsqvist Beach, St. Thomas, a sweet peace (err piece) of paradise.
Being Thankful
Today I am thankful for those who are helping out with my cover reveal.
I'm also thankful for beaches.

What are you thankful for? Got a favorite beach? Does The Bowl and the Stone pique your interest? I'm in need of reviewers. If you'd like to read The Bowl and the Stone, let me know!

Update on The Bowl and the Stone: A Haunting Tale from the Virgin Islands

Next Monday is the cover reveal for The Bowl and the Stone: A Haunting Tale from the Virgin Islands.

I'm sending out a BIG THANKS to all those who are participating!

Come October I have quite a line-up of people who will be participating in my book tour. I don't know how I've managed it, but I'm ever so grateful. And nervous. Every post will be different, so I'll be busy writing them up through August and September and sending them off.

Work still to be done

I have received a proof copy of the book from Create Space. I'm delighted with the overall look. However, as I've been reading through it, I'm finding way more mistakes than I'm comfortable with. I can accept one or two mistakes, but I'm finding one or two mistakes in just about every chapter. It means the ebooks have these mistakes as well. This will never do. Corrections will have to be made.

Question

For those of you with more experience doing tours and such, I have a question about email etiquette. When I send out an email with attachments and information, should I expect an acknowledgement that the information was received? Or, should I assume that the email was never received? If I assume the latter, is it appropriate for me to email and ask if the information/attachments were received? What should I do if I don't hear back from that email? I sure don't want to be pushy, but knowing who's going to do what when, is kind of important.

Giveaway
I'm also planning a giveaway via Rafflecopter and Goodreads. I've never done either of these things before... (gulp)

Being Thankful

Today I'm thankful for

HUGS

Local Afghan Doctors, Coalition Medical Teams Render Assistance in Afghanistan Avalanche

Clàudia

Gurung hugging goat

Treehugger

What are you thankful for? Got any advice for me on email etiquette? If you've published a book, have you been disappointed by the number of mistakes in your print proof copy? Do you get nervous/anxious before a cover reveal and/or book tour?

In an effort to keep these posts short I will be sharing a quote.

Albert Einstein at the age of three (1882)
Isn't this the cutest picture?

Today's quote is from:

Albert Einstein, no introduction needed.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Cover Reveal! I'm and Winner and Being Thankful

Today I'm happy to help author Medeia Sharif show off the cover for her latest book.
I've enjoyed every book she's written. She brings a perspective to Muslim families and life that is both challenging and endearing -- depending on the subject she writes about -- and also brings home that not matter what our nationality, race, or creed, we are not so different from one another. We all have the same emotions, the same longings and needs. I'm sure A LOVE THAT DISTURBS will add another layer!

A LOVE THAT DISTURBS by Medeia Sharif
Evernight Teen, June 17, 2016

Maysa Mazari is alarmed by her mother’s talk about arranged marriage. Meanwhile, as a hijab-wearing Pakistani-American, she wants to find love on her own. Her judgmental Muslim clique has protected her from racist taunts, although the leader, Aamal, is turning on her as Maysa strays from the group because of her attraction to Haydee.

Haydee Gomez is a former gang member and juvenile detention student. Now living with a clean-cut aunt, she wants to turn her life around, even though one person will never let her forget her roots—Rafe, her abusive pimp. Haydee attempts to pull away from a life of prostitution when she develops feelings for Maysa, although Rafe isn’t willing to give her up too easily.

Finding themselves in danger from Maysa’s friends and Haydee’s pimp, it’s apparent their love disturbs everyone around them as they fight to stay together.

I'm a winner!
Back in the middle of April, in the middle of the A to Z Challenge (did you survive?), I visited the lovely Natalie Aguirre's blog, Literary Rambles and entered the Showers of Books Giveaway Hop she was participating in. Being busy with the challenge I completely forgot about it. Much to my delight and surprise, I won a $10 Amazon gift card! If you haven't been to Natalie's blog, I strongly suggest you do. She interviews agents and authors, and has regular giveaways.

Being Thankful

Today I'm thankful for
 the color GREEN!
Although we had a mild winter, seeing the trees all leafed out is soothing to the heart and eyes.
Plus, after so many years of drought we've had a wonderfully wet spring, and for the first time in at least six years we have... a lawn!

And greenery is coming up everywhere, both planted and volunteers.

What a treat. In this bed alone there are irises, pavonia, horsemint,
standing cypress, brown-eyed Susan and cone flowers.
Our beds over-floweth with flowers!

What are you thankful for? Have you read any of Medeia's books? Do you follow Natalie's blog? Is spring busting out where you are?

I decided to join this monthly bloghop because answering thoughtful/challenging questions is one way to expand one's mind. Hosted by Michael D'Agostino at A Life Examined
The question this month is:

When have you lost or found love?

When? I'm not sure how to answer this question. First loves are always powerful and though I have fond memories,  I was a young naive teen. It was never going to last. Later, in my 20s there were a couple of moments. But they were doomed from the start. It wasn't until I was older and had given up the desire of a relationship that I was ready. And that's when I met my husband. 30 years later we're still together and thankful for every day.

Today is the start of Black History Month. For the days I post I'll be featuring some famous Virgin Islanders, both U. S. and British.

John Lucien was born on Tortola in the BVI in 1942 but was raised on St. Thomas. He not only had a beautiful voice but was a most excellent jazz bass player. This is someone I knew. Unfortunately he left us too soon in 2007.

Alton Adams was born on St. Thomas in 1889, before the islands were bought by the U. S. from Denmark. In 1917 he became the first black bandmaster in the United States Navy. He was also a composer and his music was performed by the likes of the John Philips Sousa's band.

Being Thankful
Today I'm thankful for my Sweetie, my hubby, my best friend.
On his second birthday.

With long hair!

 Working on the '57 Chevy.

Enjoying the fruits of his labor.

Arg, me hearties!

What are you thankful for? Heard about Yolanda's book, do you follow her blog? Any thoughts of the Question of the Month? Have you heard of Jon Lucien or Alton Adams?

I'm not actually at my desk, in that, I'm not where I usually am. If you follow me on Facebook (my personal page) you know where I am and what I've been up too. (You should probably check it out.)

Even though I've been through this before, I still feel a bit insecure about my next publishing foray. Here it is, the cover for A Lizard's Tail.
Artwork by the fabulous Adrienne Saldivar  who also did the cover and illustrations for
Anansi and Company.

I also feel a bit insecure about asking for help, but I have to.

So here's my request. I'd like a little help showing off the cover and getting reviews ready for when my gallant hero hits Amazon. If you're interested and/or have the time, all you have to do is fill out the form below.

Once I get back from wherever it is I am (hint, hint look on FB) and I've recovered, hopefully around the 11th, I'll get in touch with those of you who have offered your time.

Marvin and I say, THANK YOU!

I won't have a usual Thursday post and Monday's (the 8th) will be quite abbreviated. I'll be back in full swing (hopefully) by Thursday, the 11th. See you then!
