Welcome to my 7th Challenge. Thank you Arlee Bird! I know a certain Brit with a certain dog, who's a modest internet star, both who think we are all crazy for doing this. So I'm doing something off the wall and a bit different just to put a smile on his face (and yours too I hope) and her muzzle if they so happen to stop by.
It's all about the A to Z of:
Shakespearean Insults
Today's insult: Thou art an EFFLUVIUS mass of toad turd.
AND
Surrealist Compliments!
Today's compliment: EYES, like scars, dimple your EARS.
Today is also the the monthly posting for the Insecure Writer's Support Group, the brainchild of Alex Cavanaugh. YOU can sign up HERE to participate.
Let's give our co-hosts a warm welcome!
Megan Morgan, Chris Votey, Viola Fury,
Christine Rains, Madeline Mora-Summonte,
L.G. Keltner, Rachna Chhabria, and
Patricia Lynne!
In an effort to keep this post short I'm sharing a quote.
Today's quote is from:
Marcus Aurelius (121 to 180 AD) Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 AD
Do not expect Plato's ideal republic; be satisfied with even the smallest step forward, and consider this no small achievement.
How are you doing on this, the fifth day of the A to Z Challenge? Are you satisfied with small steps or do you prefer giant leaps forward?
That's a great quote for our writing and life. Thanks for the Wednesday inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOoh - that's a helluva insult! Even the compliment would give me pause for thought. :)

It's amazing how quickly all those little steps add up, but they seem excruciating when we're focused on the distant horizon.
ReplyDeleteEvery step forward matters.
ReplyDeleteToad turd - funny!
Still enjoying the insults. Quite imaginative.
ReplyDeleteSmall achievements I can live with, but really want that huge leap now and then. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think these insults are getting worse, and by that I mean better! :)
Sorry, I am having trouble typing. I'm still ROFL about toad turds. And I'm trying to figure out how to pronounce EFFLUVIUS. Notice how I gravitate toward the insults in your posts? I need to work on my attitude. :-)
ReplyDeleteNow, one would have to have had a good drink before even attempting to hurl that insult. How d'ya say it? :):)
ReplyDeleteSmall steps, giant leaps. They all count. I'll take them. I'm just as thrilled with a small step as a big one. Thanks for reminding us that the little moments count! co-Host, Viola Fury, aka Mary
ReplyDeleteToad turds! I will laugh about that for the rest of the evening. Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteYup, quite an insult to be compared to toad turd.
ReplyDeleteMaking small steps, but I fear I'm falling behind.
