Welcome to my 7th Challenge. Thank you Arlee Bird! I know a certain Brit with a certain dog, who's a modest internet star, who thinks we are all crazy for doing this. So I'm doing something off the wall and a bit different just to put a smile on his face (and yours too I hope) and her muzzle if they so happen to stop by.
It's all about the A to Z of:
Shakespearean Insults
Today's insult: Thou art a CHURLISH shard-borne pigeon egg.
AND
Surrealist Compliments!
Today's compliment: You have the intrepid appeal of a CARNIVOROUS apple on its way to a pile of CADAVERIC stones.
I decided to join this monthly bloghop because answering thoughtful/challenging questions is one way to expand one's mind. Hosted by Michael D'Agostino at A Life Examined , the question this month is coincides with the letter C of the A to Z Challenge.
The question is:
What’s your favourite thing that begins with C?
Well, the first things that pops into my head is, what else, chocolate! How much you wanna bet I'm not the only one?

Good grief - that compliment almost sounds insulting! Looking forward to tomorrow's offering already. :)

ReplyDeleteI like your choice for C. The other one for me would be coffee.
ReplyDeleteMine would be cats or coffee.
ReplyDeleteSo much chocolate doing the blogging rounds today :) Like Natalie, I am a coffee lover. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteChurlish. I love that word. I don't why. I just do!
ReplyDelete'The Choir', a short story with 2 neglected words
you are excelling in your compliments
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to be called a churlish pigeon egg!
ReplyDeleteAlways loved the word churlish.
ReplyDeleteChocolate is a favorite of mine too :) Its kind of nice we don't talk like they did in Shakespeare's time; our insults don't seem quite as cruel.
ReplyDeletebetty
LOL, only gets better!
ReplyDeleteC for chocolate, well, of course! :)
I thought the compliment was an insult :D
ReplyDeleteChocolate :)
Love that Shakespeare. I wonder if I could use those insults with my kids?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite C word would be cat.
I'm enjoying your theme.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite C word is Children... and chocolate, because you can't deal with one without the other, imho. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Your Shakespearian insults keep getting better and better. You lighten the day, Bish! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the word churlish. Shard-borne gave me pause. I guess that has to do with a difficult and painful delivery for the poor pigeon. Zwounds!
ReplyDeleteLove that insult! Shakespeare makes for the best insults, that's for sure.
ReplyDelete-Katy from THE KATY blog (www.thekatyblog.com)
Candy, or Cookies or Cake are the first words to come to mind, but then I read Jen's comment and felt a tad bit guilty, so I'm changing mine to children, too. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea for A to Z, I truly enjoyed this. I can't promise to come back every day, but I will try to check in and catch up on the insults.
ReplyDeleteNope, a lot of people picked chocolate. Alex Cavanaugh went all higher power and philosophical and chose Christ.
ReplyDeleteThis is off the wall all right. Love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing that begins with C is my daughter Ciara. :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm annoyed by my weakness for chocolate. I have a whole carton of Lindt blocks right next to me and I'm looking at them longingly.

That insult is pretty harsh! Chocolate is a great thing that starts with C :)
