The brainchild of Alex Cavanaugh, the purpose of the Insecure Writer's Support Group is: to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting is the first Wednesday of every month.

"Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."
Write what you want, tell your own story, quit looking over someone else's shoulder. Look over your own fingers and write out your own arrangement of words. At some point you will find your own voice, your own story.

My contribution this month is a quote of C. S. Lewis."Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."
Write what you want, tell your own story, quit looking over someone else's shoulder. Look over your own fingers and write out your own arrangement of words. At some point you will find your own voice, your own story.

A special WILDFLOWER bouquet and THANK YOU
to EVERYONE who stopped by Monday and Tuesday with their Happy Blitz comments. I can't even begin to tell you what a wonderful feeling it was. I even got teary-eyed.
Don't ever doubt the positive impact a blitz can have on a person. Be assured you're time, your words, are not wasted. I so wanted to thank each of you individually, to visit each of your blogs and comment back, but I couldn't... I tried, but I just couldn't say "Hi," back to all of you. And to DL Hammons who thought up the idea and made it all possible, HUGS to you. I'm humbled and honored.
Love that quote, but Voice is one area I don't have problems with. It's organisation. As with organising anything and everything, I flounder there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. X

Glad you enjoyed your Blitz Day!
ReplyDeleteI like Lewis' words. That's how I write.
Glad you enjoyed your blitz day. And thanks for the inspiring quote.
ReplyDeleteDelighted you enjoyed your Blitz day!
ReplyDeletePlaying catch up and missed the pile on on the 3rd, but am here from Blog Blitz. Good luck with your writing. Easy for me to say not to feel ensure...I'm not a writer. LOVE the spring picture you posted, am so very very tired of winter. Maybe if you visit 10 folks a day over time you'll get there. Continue writing and believe in yourself.
ReplyDeleteBridge and Beyond
Oh, yes. Be yourself. Always. Great quote.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers, too.
I am extremely late for the blitz, but HAPPY BLITZ!! Great advice in this post :)
ReplyDeleteYour post reminded me of my coffee mug (that I drink hot chocolate out of because coffee is nasty haha) It's from the Simple Life and says:
ReplyDeleteDo What You Like
Like What You Do

What a great quote!
ReplyDeleteYay. Glad we cheered you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI believe in always writing what calls to me. I may make some tweaks for my audience intentionally, but I don't try to do what everyone else is doing.
Love the quote. Truer words were never spoken. Trying hard to adhere to those principles.
ReplyDeleteBlog blitz is truly a wonderful thing. So glad you enjoyed YOUR day.
Excellent quote. Might have to stick that one on my wall.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! I hadn't heard that one before.
ReplyDeleteAwesome advice!! And a great quote too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blitz day a day late. I know I am always running behind.
ReplyDeleteThe Insecure Writers group looks fun. I love the flowers and butterfly sculpture. They are so pretty.
Congrats on being blitzed. :)

...better late than never for the Blitz, huh, good to know you, m;'Lady :; Seumas
ReplyDeleteI love the CS Lewis quote, thanks for sharing it. I also enjoyed your picture of the butterflies, flowers and gnome. My mum used to have a whole family of gnomes in the garden when I was a teenager. I thought they were naff back then, but now they are gone I’ve learnt to appreciate them and even miss them a little.
ReplyDeleteI'm batting a .1000 when it comes to satisfied BLITZ recipients. So glad it meant something to you. It was indeed...my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the quote! :)
Two of my favorite things in that photo. A gnome and purple flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good blitz!

That's an inspiring quote. Thank you, Bish. It's true. We tend to make things hard the more we work out. The true is simpler and more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteBe well,
xoRobyn
Dropping by late to the blitz (haven't been checking your email)

The flowers are beautiful and the quote is great and very true. Thank for your post I really enjoyed reading it xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy Blitz! And great quote. I like to be reminded that I have my own voice once in a while. I keep forgetting--one of my human failings, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteHere's to butterflies, flowers and gnomes in red hats.
Hey Bish,
ReplyDeleteUm, it's the "I Was Seeking Gary", dedication group! Then I woke up from my delusional dream...
Great quote and the truth lies within the words.
Ah yes, the Blog Blitz. Sorry I missed that.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Gary :)
