Mark Koopman thought of a lovely way to celebrate Christmas
Mark says:
"I’m calling it the 50 States of Pray event and I’d love to find at least one person (but the more the merrier) from each U.S. state to participate.
But wait... as they say on TV... This is absolutely open to anyone, anywhere. Imagine if we got one person from 50 independent states (countries), too. That would be amazing! All that’s required is to take a moment and about 100 words. Please share a prayer, a thought, a memory, a hope and even a regret about the past and/or a wish for the future."
My Contribution
I can't think of a better Christmas message than this song. The Youngbloods were the first to make it popular in the turbulent year of 1967. But it was written by Dino Valenti and first recorded by The Kingston Trio in 1964. Joni Mitchell used it for many years to close her shows. You can read more about it HERE. The beautiful melody and words are as relevant today as they were when it was written. Turn it up. Close your eyes and... listen.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'd feel bad if I made an angel cry though...

If you hear the song I'm singing, you will understand... you hold the key to love and fear all in your trembling hand... just one key unlocks them both, it's there at your command... Have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMusic is a great joy, and very inspirational to me personally. Enjoy the holidays!

Very nice idea. Good luck with your project.
ReplyDeleteHi Bish - great thoughts are expressed here aren't they - so thank you for posting.
ReplyDeleteThe first few words .. 'fear's the way we die' .. if we fear we do lose something of ourselves ...
... but 'get together and smile on your brother' - so true and so important in this age where we so often don't remember others ...
Thanks Bish - great thoughts .. Hilary
