This post is a little different.
It is tax day.
It is my mother's youngest brother's birthday.
One year ago today, my mother died peacefully in her sleep a month shy of her 93rd birthday.
And, today's letter is M.
M could only stand for Mom, the woman who taught me to read and who always encouraged me to write. Many years ago she gave me the book, The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. In it she inscribed in her large flowing hand, "To Bish, follow the way. Love, Mom."
So here's to Mom. A life in pictures.
Who has encouraged you in your writing?
Bish, your mum was stunning. What a lovely slideshow of her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute Bish. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI loved the slide show of your mum in pictures. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful tribute. My English teacher at secondary school was a good source of encouragement in my writing.

Mom's are the best, you're so right. I'm sorry for your loss, but it's good that you remember it with a good attitude in mind.
