It's been a kind of strange and stressful year. Friends dying, friends diagnosed with terminal illnesses, friends getting sick and/or having surgeries. Not to mention (though I will) the extreme heat of the past summer and the extreme drought which still hasn't been broken. All of it has taken a toll. I've been uninspired, haven't hardly written a thing. Haven't submitted.
I need to get organized. Set some goals. Clear my head. Meditate on a time when it was still green in Texas.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year.
See you in 2012.
Oh Bish, you have endured a lot. I still think about your turtles and hope they're okay.
ReplyDeleteI wish the best holiday season for you and hubs. You deserve a little cheer.
BTW, I'm up to 60k so hope to be finishing the new one soon. It's coming to you right after New Years if you still want it. Even in the Kindle version because I am magic that way.
Rest, recharge and be renewed Bish. Merry Christmas to you and Stan.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend some time in that hammock!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away and Merry Christmas!
Have a Merry Christmas and hope you come back fresh and renewed!
ReplyDeleteFWIW, it's raining here in San Antonio. Maybe some of it will make it up your way.
ReplyDeleteGo easy on yourself after a Year from Hell. Been there, done that. Some people can write in waiting rooms and some can't. There's no shame in being one who can't. We don't all have astounding reserves of strength.
Hi Bish!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your bloggy break. Just want to wish you congratulations for winning my book giveaway! STop by my blog so I can figure how to send you the book :)

So glad you're taking a break. It's well-deserved and from that picture, you've got the perfect spot to just BE!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Bish.
Sometimes a break is exactly what you need.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Bish!

I know how loss and illness and worries about loved ones can shut you down creatively. Mental exhaustion is rough. If you can, go someplace green for a few days. Bury yourself in your favorite books. Take naps and pamper yourself (which for me means read more good books!). Don't worry about the writing. It'll come back when you're ready and rested. Sending cyber hugs your way...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful break Bish. I wish for you a better year.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off! That is great. I'm planning on doing lots of reading this month. And I have to hit another revision of a different manuscript. I think I've revised it 5 million times. But it's getting better each time so that's good right?
ReplyDeleteLove the hammock BTW!
It sounds like you could use some time off after a tough go of it, Bish. I hope the break is restorative and lifts your spirits. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a much happier new year!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a refreshing break, renewed peace, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

I think taking some time off is exactly what you need. :) You are a fabulous writer and have so much to offer the world, but only if your heart and head are free of stress and sadness. Enjoy your Christmas Bish--I hope you have a wonderful holiday full of all good things. :)
