An Anniversary

Can it really be true that I've been blogging for three years today?
A BIG THANK YOU to my faithful Random Readers for helping to make my journey a most enjoyable one.

To celebrate I thought I'd steal an idea from Jen over at unedited. Which is...what would you like to know about me that you don't already think you know? Go ahead, ask me questions. Just please let's keep it PG. You're questions can be about anything. But of course the flakier the questions the better chance you have of winning....

Oh didn't I say there was going to be a contest?

All you have to do is post your questions by November 3rd. Three winners will be announced November 5th. I will answer all questions in due course, but the questions that tickle my fancy best (a purely subjective contest for sure) will recieve these!

First Place: Three TATTED SNOWFLAKES (get it, flakes, flakier?) which have any number of uses. The snowflakes range in size from 3 inches to about 2 1/4 inches across.

Second Place: This 3 inch tatted tassel angel.

Third Place: This little wreathe just an inch in diameter.

So help me celebrate! Jump in with both feet, or head first, make snow angles, or snow balls, what ever suits ya and let's party!

  1. Happy blogiversary!
How long have you been tatting? You do beautiful work.

  2. Really, those are beautiful. My aunt used to tat. I have a hook somewhere in my sewing box. Unfortunately arthritis keeps my from even crocheting until summer.

Question -- How did you get from the islands to the states? And if it had something to do with romance could you share? And if it didn't can you make something up?

I'm such a sucker for a good romance.

  3. Happy Blogiversary to you! You're one of the first people I met when I started blogging and you remain one of my faves. I love to read your stories of the islands and respect your speaking out for the environment.
Question: Did you ever have a memorable encounter with some creature of the sea? (Please don't enter my name in the contest, because I won a wonderful tatted bookmark from you and don't want to be greedy--Really, someone else needs to get some of your marvelous work).

  4. Wow, you're get at tatting. Do I get point for kissing up? No, wait, don't count that as my question.

If you could be any food in the world, which would it be and why?

  5. Happy anniversary to your blog!

Have you ever seen a UFO and if not, have you ever wanted to? (Don't ask me where that question came from -- I'm usually capable of much flakier, but I've been battling our washing machine and that's thrown me off.)

  6. Happy blogoversary!
Ooh, pretty! My grandmother did tatting but never taught any of us, which makes me all kinds of sad.

    Questions:
What was your worst bad-date experience?

What did you like most about high school?

If you could go back and give wisdom to your 16-yo self, what would you tell her?

(Can you tell I am entirely stuck in YA land? LOL)

  7. I love these Bish. You must come visit and give me and my daughter a private lesson in tatting over a summer weekend. Would you do that? I promise to feed you well. Fair trade?

  8. Happy Anniversary BISH! Your tatting is beautiful. I remember you were one of the first people to come by the bookshelf muse when Becca and I started it up, and I was so grateful to see your comments!

    A question...hmmm.

What will you do to celebrate a book sale?

If you could travel anywhere and take an author with you, who woould it be and where would you go?

If you had to go on a reality TV show, which would it be?

  10. Bish;
I've been reading for a long time. So I know that you are DARING, Caring and I know a lot about your family. I feel like if we met in person we'd talk for hours!

here are some (I hope flakey) questions:

What is the strangest thing you've ever eaten?

What is your deepest darkest secret? (Just kidding!)

Would you want to travel to outer space? If so, just up in orbit or to the moon or to another planet?

What is your favorite comic strip? Cartoon? fingernail polish color?

Do you want me to stop asking questions?

  11. I have 2 questions, but they're related. What's the weirdest thing that you've ever tatted (I've tatted packing string & I know someone who's tatted horsehair & fishing line)?

And what's the weirdest place you've ever tatted? I tat in the dentist's chair, for example.

  12. Um -- are you willing to tell us what your birth-certificate name is? But don't enter me in your contest (not that my question would win). Like Tricia, I won a gorgeous bookmark from you AND a greeting card, which I gave my daughter for her college graduation and it stands on the bookshelf in her computer room. :)

  14. Oh, gorgeous prizes! And a big congratulations, Bish!

Hm, question. Okay: Do you think you'll ever live anywhere else? Do you want to?

  15. HAPPY BLOGAVERSARY!! Since I was just introduced to you by Angela, and Angela is a new friend of mine, how and when did you both meet and what was your first impression of Angela? I could ask bucketsful of questions, but would you be my friend on FB so we can get to know each other? The tatting is beautiful and I can see you are genuinely talented. The pieces you have shown look so professional, you really know what you are doing. How do you do that? Such a treasure it would be to win any of those prizes. I would put it in my glass curio cabinets and show with a little card explaining who made it and how I received it. Wouldn't you like for me to tell people that ask about the tatting what a fantastic talent and great lady you are? Is tatting difficult and does it make your hands ache? I hope your special anniversary brings many blessings your way and I really would like to know you better.

    Sharing Christ's Love,
