Today's quote is from Glenda Jackson, actress.
I can't actually see myself putting makeup on my face at the age of sixty. But I can see myself going on a camel train to Samarkand.
Of course I have no idea when she said this, and whether or not she wears makeup, but I think it's a hoot because it sounds just like me. (Good grief, could there be two of us in the world? Lord help you all!) I don't wear makeup. I gave up trying to cover my acne scars long ago. I figured if a person didn't like me because of the way I looked well then, that person wasn't/isn't worth my time. And I'd definitely go on a camel trip.
Throughout my life I have been pleasantly and wonderfully surprised by the people (not including family who have no choice but to take me as I am) like my handsome husband, who do and have genuinely cared for me. Me, with the big nose, scarred skin, and wearing glasses. Me, who has never been interested in fashion or shoes or hair and makeup.
What about you? Would you go for an Oprah make-over and put a mask on? Or are you comfortable in your own skin, just the way you are, warts and all?
