Angela had a contest: Write a story in 300 words or less. It could be fact or fiction, prose or a poem. The only requirement was it had to have something to do with trains. The prize would be copy of WHEN THE WHISTLE BLOWS by, Fran Cannon Slayton.
My friend Vijaya won a copy too!
Yippee! I've heard great things about this book and I'm looking forward to reading. Thanks Angela, for having the contest. It's been a long time since I thought about my first train ride.
Time to whistle and dance!
ReplyDeleteI love firsts and what a memorable first.
Thanks for entering the contest! I hope you'll enjoy the book! :) Fran
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed this one. I have a great first train ride experience. I still can't hear a train whistle without remembering that day.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Bish!
ReplyDeleteTrain whistles make me want to take to the rails and wander. Congratulations on your win. After reading your posts, I've signed on as a follower. I like your musings.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for winning! Isn't it wonderful to win a book? There's the thrill of winning combined with the pleasure of knowing you'll soon be reading... Then you can pass the book on, too, so it's a gift that keeps on giving.
ReplyDeleteso true, Vijaya, about firsts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran! I am definitely looking forward to reading your book.
Lee, sorry you missed it too. It is most always merrier when there are more.
