May all who live in fear be free from fear;
May all who live in bondage gain their independence;
May the oppressed be free from oppression, and
May beings everywhere seek the good of others.
Shantideva
Shantideva was an 8th century Buddhist scholar who wrote the Bodhicaryavatara, which is translated into English as A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama practices Bodhicitta teaching.
I can’t think of a better daily mantra, a better daily prayer than this one.
May all who live in fear be free from fear;
May all who live in bondage gain their independence;
May the oppressed be free from oppression, and
May beings everywhere seek the good of others.
Have added your blog site to my "favorites" list. As today was the first meeting of the New Year for my Rotary Club, I exercised my presidential prerogative, and delivered today's invocation using your posting. Thanks - it is so universally appropriate!
