Writing Prompts - Using a Poem

Take a poem and create a plot outline.

Take a poem and turn it into a couple of pages of dialogue.

Take a line from a poem and rework it or expand on it.

Take a line from a poem and continue writing where it leaves off. Write for two and a half or five minutes.

Lifted from the poem The Spider and the Fly.

"Please, come into my parlor."
"Are you nuts? Your a spider!"
"What has that got to do with it?"
"I'm a fly! Do you think I'm stupid enough to come into your parlor?"
"But see here, it's a very comfortable parlor. I have memory foam cushions on a red velvet sofa and the water is just ready for tea."
"I'm not thirsty."
"Well, if you're not thirsty, perhaps I could offer you something to eat?"
"Not hungry."
"I have baklava...."
"Baklava?"
"The finest...."
"No, no, no. Not even baklava will get me inside your parlor."

You see how it can go.
